Terminal Management¶
This screen allows System or Merchant Admins to view, add and modify Terminals.
The default screen of Terminal Management looks as follows:
When clicked on Show Filters link the screen displays as follows and contains the following elements:
- Hide Filters — link to hide the available screen filters
- Status — Filter drop-down with options of Active, Suspended and Damaged. User can filter the screen by a terminal's status.
- Serial Number — Field to enter a Serial Number and filter the screen by it, multiple serial numbers can also be entered separated by a comma.
- Created By Username — Drop-down with the list of all avaialable Usernames.
- Manufacturer — Drop-down with a list of manufaturer names to filter the screen by manufacturer.
- Merchant Name — Drop-down with a list of available merchants
- Reset — button to reset the filters to the default values
- Filter — button to filter the on-screen data based on the selected filter values
- A dropdown to change the number of rows displayed in the table
- A dynamic search box that will show rows matching the user-entered criteria
- Table containing the information of the existing Terminals
- S No.: The sequence number of the Terminal in the table
- Created Date & Time: Terminal created date and time
- Manufacturer: Manufacturer name of the Device
- Terminal Type: Device Type of the Terminal
- Serial Number(SN): A link that allows user to Modify or View terminals
- Model Number(PN): Model Number of the device
- KSN(KSID): Key serial number of the device
- EMV Technology Type: EMV Technology type of the device, standard or Quick Chip
- Nickname: Nickname of the Terminal
- Status: Status of the Terminal, can be Active, Suspended, or Damaged
- Action: Drop-down by which a Terminal can be set as Suspended/Damaged etc.
- Created By Username: Username of the user who created that Terminal
- Magnetic Stripe: Column which shows whether the Terminal supports Magnetic Stripe
- EMV Contact: Column which shows whether the Terminal supports EMV Contact
- EMV Contactless: Column which shows whether the Terminal supports EMV Contactless
- PIN Pad: Column which shows whether the Terminal supports PIN Pad
- Manual Entry: Column shows whether the Terminal supports Manual Entry
- Merchant Name Column showing the Merchant name to which that terminal belongs to
- Hyperlink which takes the user to the Edit Terminal page
- Action — Drop-down to Suspend, Damage, or Clone the Terminal
- A pager to go between pages in case there are more rows than what will fit on the screen
- Add — button to add a Terminal
Note
Merchant Name filter and column will be displayed if the user is logged in with Merchant Admin user role.
Add Terminal¶
Add Terminal screen can be accessed by clicking Add button on the Terminal Management screen. The System or Merchant Admin can create/add a new Terminal through this screen.
The screen contains the following elements:
- Merchant Name — Drop-down to select Merchant Name
- Serial Number — Field to enter the Serial Number of the Terminal. This should be unique.
- Terminal Nickname — Optional field to enter a nickname for the terminal
- Manufacturer — Drop-down to select a manufacturer for the Terminal
- Terminal Type — Drop-down to select the terminal type from the available types for that manufacturer ex: eDynamo, Dynamag etc.
- Model Number(PN)/KSN(KSID)/EMV Technology Type — Drop-down to select a model number, ksn, and Emv Technology type for the device
- Interface Type — Field which displays the interface type of the selected Device i.e., USB HID/Key Board Emulation etc. and is disabled
- Terminal Entry Mode(s) — Section which gets displayed when the Device Type of the Terminal is selected with the options of the modes available for that Device
- Cancel — Button to cancel the process of adding a Terminal
- Save — Button to save/add a Terminal
When the Device is selected as Dynamag or Dynapad then the following device type options display for the user to select.
Magnetic Stripe — Checkbox if selected, the Terminal supports Magnetic Stripe
Manual Entry — Checkbox if selected, the Terminal supports Manual Entry
When the Device is selected as eDynamo then the following device type options display for the user to select.
Magnetic Stripe — Checkbox if selected, the Terminal supports Magnetic Stripe
EMV Contact — Checkbox if selected, the Terminal supports EMV Contact
Manual Entry — Checkbox if selected, the Terminal supports Manual Entry
When the Device is selected as DynaPro Go then the following device type options display for the user to select.
Magnetic Stripe — Checkbox if selected, the Terminal supports Magnetic Stripe
EMV Contact — Checkbox if selected, the Terminal supports EMV Contact
EMV Contactless — Checkbox if selected, the Terminal supports EMV Contactless
PIN Pad — Checkbox if selected, the Terminal supports PIN Pad
Manual Entry — Checkbox if selected, the Terminal supports Manual Entry
When the Device is selected as eDynamo, tDynamo or DynaPro Go and the EMV technology type is Standard EMV, then a checkbox is displayed beneath the Model Number (PN)/KSN (KSID)/EMV Technology Type drop-down called as Force As Quick Chip EMV.
When the user selects the checkbox, the standard emv device transactions are routed as quick chip.
Note
The user has to select at least one checkbox from the Device Type options to get the Save button enabled.
After filling up the required information, clicking upon Save button, the user is returned to the Terminal Management screen with a success message that the terminal has been created.
Edit Terminal¶
The Edit Terminal screen looks very similar to the Add Terminal screen with the exception that all the fields displays with preserved values and are disabled except Terminal Nickname and device type options and looks as follows:
On the Edit Terminal page, clicking upon View EMV Tags and Values link, those respective values are fetched and displayed as below:
The user can update a Terminal by editing the fields which are not disabled and clicking upon Save, the user is returned to the Terminal Management screen with a success message that the terminal is updated.
For the Terminals whose Status is Damaged, when clicked on Serial Number link View Terminal screen displays in a disabled state.
Terminal Management link displays in the screen to return to the Terminal Management screen.
Actions¶
In Terminal Management screen each row of the Terminal table displays with Action drop-down, which allows a user to set the Terminal as Suspended or Damaged or to Clone a terminal from the existing one.
Action drop-down of an Active Terminal looks as follows:
A Terminal can be suspended by selecting the Suspend option from the drop-down.
A success message gets displayed when a terminal is Suspended.
Suspended Terminal row Action drop-down displays with the following options:
A Suspended Terminal can be made Active again by selecting Active option from the drop-down and the success message displays as follows:
A terminal can be set to Damaged by selecting Damaged option from the Action drop-down.
The success message after setting a Terminal as Damaged displays as follows:
No Action button is displayed for a terminal which is set as Damaged, which means a Terminal once set as Damaged cannot be made Active again.
Clone Terminal¶
A new Termianl can be created by coloning the existing terminal. This can be done by selecting the Clone option under the Action drop-down of a Terminal row.
Clone Terminal page looks as follows:
All the fields are auto-populated with the values of the Original terminal except the Serial Numebr and Terminal Nickname.
After filling the required fields, clicking upon Save button creates a new terminal and takes the user to the POS Terminal Management page with the following success message.
